Vacation BookCamp

August 17, 2012

Hey Loves :)

Happy Weekend! ! I was dragging my feet all week. I am back from vacation and I am not ready to go back into normal life.I had such an amazing time. I will share all the details in another post but This post is about vacation and Bootcamp.

I have mentioned here in the past that I have signed up to do Bootcamp.  Although I am was on vacation I was not going to let that stop me in doing boot camp. I was away From August 2nd- August 10th.

So this is what I did while on Vacation:

I signed up for Spin classes right away. They had them practically ever day. Only time they did not have it was the day we got on, St. Thomas and the day we got off the boat. That is the most I have ever seen from a cruise ship.  I planned on doing this as my cardio. I like that the are a set time so they force me to get up and not put it off. I would most likely workout regardless but it is good getting it up.

August 2nd- Still in phase one. This was an off day.

August 3rd- I woke up and did spin class. I also did workout B from Boot camp. It was great. I like the spin classes on the cruise. They do a great job at motivating you and it was nice to have some different teach you. It makes it fresh.

August 4th- Cardio of Choice so this was more Spin. It was a hard class. A lot of hills. My legs were feeling it afterward. I liked it. I think it also had to do with the fact that I haven’t taken a spin class in a while. I choose biking outside when I have the chance.

August 5th-Workout C and More Spin haha. I told you I signed up for everyone.

August 6th- Start of phase two. I was in St. Thomas and had an excursion planned for my friends birthday so I used this as my off day. But this could have been a cardio day of choice. I did kayaking for 30 min, 20 min short hike, 30 min light snorkel, then 30 min kayak back. My arms were feeling it by the end. Kayaking is no joke.

August 7th-We were in Grand Turk So I used this as my Cardio of choice. I stayed out late the night before (Like until 3:30) so I was not ready to do much. If it was not for 9:00 am Spin class I would have slept until it was time to get of the boat to party in Grand Turk. That Spin class kept me going.  I woke up at 8:40 for it, got dress and did my spin.

August 8th- Spin class and Workout A. Due to Grand Turk being the day before and everyone getting drunk as a skunk by 7:00 Pm ( me included) everyone pretty much crashes early. I went to bed at 11 the night before so I was well rested to do this workout. This Workout was great and I loved doing it in their gym. They had all the equipment needed. I felt more comfortable here then I did my gym. Strange.

August 9th- This day called for Cardio intervals (spin class) and Core. I stayed out until 4 that night so I told my self go to spin and do core later because I was just to tired. I did the Spin class (I don’t know how I did that) and I had breakfast, went for a walk around the ship with my parents, and took a nap. I took a nice long nap. I woke up and went swimming a bit and relaxed and completely forgot about the core. Hey I’m was on vacation.  I realized at the end of the night but I actually did not care. It was the last night of the cruise so I was focused on taking pictures and saying goodbye to everyone I met.

August 10th- This was the day I cam home sadly :( But I still worked out. I went to bed at 5 the night before and woke up at 7:40, needless to say I was tired. I had breakfast with my parents and we had to get off the ship. When I got home I took a much needed nap. I set my alarm for four though so I could have a workout. Plus I wanted to work on getting my sleep time back on track so I thought I get up workout out I would be ready to go to sleep normal time. I did about 45 minutes of intervals on the treadmill. I warmed up by walking for 5 minutes then ran for 3 minutes walked for 2 then cooled down for 5. It was a lot of fun and kept me busy. After I did workout B from Best Body Bootcamp with the cardio circuit. I really liked it. It was a lot of fun.

August 11th- This day I was home so I biked for 11 miles and did core. I remember this time!

August 12th- Workout C and bike riding. I really loved workout C. It was different then all the other workouts. It was a circuit and each lasted 10 minutes. I was a sweaty mess by the end of it.

Looking back I do not know how I managed to get in the workouts while away and getting up so early but I did it and i am glad I did. I never felt I had to get up that early. I wanted to. I wanted to do those spin classes because I enjoyed them. I knew I would feel great from those classes and I was on vacation so I wanted to enjoy every minute not sleep it away and getting up for those classes made sure that happened. Working out on vacation was better then working out at home for me. GO figure haha

Do you workout on vacation?

what kind of workout’s do you do?

Do you get up early for it or find time later in the day?

Plans for this weekend?

Yeah mornings are so much better! That sounds like a great way to stay active on vacation! I would do things like that but a little hard on a cruise ship haha. And from what I saw on your blog you have to get use to using the word Fiance instead o fbf haha

I try to work out on vacation but don’t beat myself up if I don’t. I walk a lot and hike and explore the area so I consider that working out, and I do yoga podcasts. Nothing big. It’s a good rest for my body anyways.

I always try to wake up early unless the time difference screws with me.

That is great ways to stay active on vacation. I agree with you that it is good rest for your body. I am thinking of maybe cutting back a little next year. I did like how it forced me out of bed and really got me going though. Maybe next year more of a balance of something.
