WIAW# 36..Major Food Rut.

July 18, 2012

Hey Loves :)

Happy hum day. I am having one busy week at work. In the past I have mentioned that one of the girls I work with was looking for a new job, well she found it and this is her last week. So this week has been so busy with making sure she gets everything done and then let me know about everything. Also since she is finishing up I am taking all the calls and it is crazy. I spoke to over 40 people everyday so yeah that makes me very tired. Also with this busyness it has put me a little on edge. I am working on calming down but sometimes it is not easy but that is a post for another day. I will talk more about that in my personal update 2 which is almost finished. That post is another wordy post. To make me feel a little better its one of my favorite days of the week WIAW! Thank you Jenn for giving me something else to focus on :) I really love this months theme. I really believe that the two go hand and hand. You need a balanced diet and a balance fitness program that is good for your body.

So I woke up and did my normal routine, take my vitamins, do my hair, make breakfast then eat it in front of the Television while watching my trashy soap operas. If I have a General Hospital I watch that first, if not then I watch Days of our life’s. It is rare that I do not have at least one of them to watch. If both are not there I watch Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I love him so I dvr him every night.

BREAKFAST

Oatmeal! This I love and do not really care to change. I think maybe one day soon I will have a tofu scramble or something soon though but I really love my oatmeal. This had 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder and a peach in it. I liked the peach..Also I think after seeing some blog I might put some frozen fruit in it to change it up.

After breakfast it was time for a hectic day at work. Yippie! It actually went by pretty fast., I guess you do not realize the time when a million people call every five seconds. After about 4 hours there I got hungry.

SNACK

I always forget to take a picture of this. It is a lettuce wrap. One slice of applegate ham and turkey, 1tbs of hummus. It holds me over well until lunch. I love this snack but I am starting to get tired of it. I need to come up with some new ideas. Good thing I have a nutritionist appointment next week. She helps come up with ideas. She is always available by email but for things like that I do not like to bother her.

Once I got to leave work I was so happy and by the time I got home I got my lunch ready. By this time I was hungry so I enjoyed this bad boy despite the fact that I have it all the time.

LUNCH

A salad beast. This has lettuce, broccoli, Zucchini. eggplant, and one turkey burger. I used 2 tbs of hummus as my dressing. I ate this with my chopsticks that were stolen from PF Changs. Don’t judge. It was my 21st birthday dinner. We were a little wild lol.

After Lunch I went to run on some errands then it was on to my therapist appointment. I really like talking to her it helps. She pushes me out of my shell and I like that because sometimes even with her I gloss over things.  Even if we bring up hard things I feel better leaving just because I know we are working toward a bigger goal. Which by the way is probably why I am struggling so much at trying to maintain my weight and not fall back into my bad eating habit’s and disordered eating habits. I have always had a goal to strive to be healthy and I weighed myself as a check and counted every calorie. Now that I do not do those things it makes for an interesting internal battle and a lot of What If’s type of thinking.

When I got home from my appointment I watched a little more TV then my dad and I had dinner.

DINNER

Started with Salad as always. This has cucumbers and peppers in it and I topped it with balsamic vinaigrette. I love putting peppers in this. When my mom grilled peppers on the bbq she saves me the tops for my salads.

After I have my salad, I then move on to dinner. chicken grilled zucchini, peppers portobello mushroom and eggplant. I like this dinner but I have it all the time. Maybe I need something to spice up the chicken.

After Dinner we went Biking. I rode on my new bike! Yes I got another bike. This is a rode bike and I am so happy my daddy bought this for me.

We added on to our usual millage to another scenic route. It was nice to go a little longer. We went 17 miles and did it in 1:30 . Not bad. It was fun to ride my new bike. This thing really flys. I understand why rode bikes are so many peoples go to bikes. They made the experience even more wonderful. When I got home I was a little tired though. It was a great workout. I am starting to see that I do not have to do a lot more exercising in addition  this.  Biking is a workout as well. For some reason I had it in my mind that it was not a workout but a fun thing to do and the two cannot be combined. I have recently changed that. I now bike and do kickboxing and hot yoga and I do those because I enjoy them. I go to the gym maybe 3 times a week and that is just to lift weights in addition to cardio, not to do more and hurt my body. Again, I will get into this more in my personal update 2.

After our long bike ride I was hungry.
SNACK

Protein Ice cream. I love this stuff. In this was 1 cup of almond milk, 1 scoop of protein powder, 50 grams of frozen fruit, some ice all blended then I added 1/3 xanthan Gum, 1/2 guar gum. I then topped it with 2 small strawberries, and 2 teaspoons of Justin’s chocolate almond butter.

I saw on Katie’s blog that she made this and it made me remember that I use to have this all the time after I a workout. I felt it was in a need of a comeback. I love these because it makes me feel like having a real treat but its healthy.

While this I watched some more TV (yes I watch a lot of TV) and then I went to bed. Now if you have been following my blog you can see that I keep eating the same things! I am stuck in a major food rut. I really need to change it up. I think that has something to do with my not being fully satisfied with meals. It is just not fun. I think it is time to hit the blogs and cookbooks. Anyone have recommendations?

Until Next Time-Ashley
