Weekend Adventures

November 21, 2011
Hey loves :)
I hope everyone ha a great weekend. I know I did. I should have probably done more school work but I really needed some recharge time. I was starting to feel burnt and around this time of the year not good. So I had some fun this weekend to recharge my batteries so I am in a better mind frame to deal with the final weeks of the semester. In the spring I go to the bamboozle festival in New Jersey right before finals week and it always settles me down and put me in a better mind frame to tackle and rock my finals. So fingers crossed this helped.
So on Saturday I worked in the morning but I didn’t mind. I worked from 8:30-1:30 not to bad. The getting up was hard. I totally stayed up way to late the night before hehe. After I left work I met up with my friend Michelle and we took a mini road trip to see my friend Ashley for the day who lives in NJ. We met up with Ashley and her boyfriend at Raceway in English town, Nj. The ride there was so relaxing. It was nice to talk, listen to music and almost miss the way into Raceway and make a sudden stop in the middle of the road oops. :/. Luckily I didn’t hurt someone. At Raceway they have drag races, monster truck rallies, motocross, and drifting. During season the place is packed. When we went it was the last day of the season and a bit cold outside. They only had the drag races going. Despite the cold we had so much fun. It was so exciting. You see all the cars just fly by you and you can feel it in the seats. Each race we would pick a car to cheer for; mine lost most of the time lol. The most interesting part of that was some of the cars you would have never known could move that fast. Most look like pieces of junk but boy they were quick wow. Those men must have really put stuff in those cars. I give it up to them. They had this old looking Scobby doo car that we called a raper van because that’s what I reminded us of. That car was one of the fastest ones out there. After the races we went to a nice restaurant called Tuscany. The atmosphere and food was very good. Sorry no pictures We were all so hungry and ate our food as soon as it came hehe. After dinner we went back to her place and hung out with her parents and watched some movies. It was so nice to see them. I realize how much I miss them and her every time I go there :( . After a while it was time to drive back to Staten island (one hour and twenty min drive back). Michelle kept me company playing all songs I’ve never heard before. Thanks michelle for keeping me awake and going. It was nice spending the day with two of my best friends.
On Sunday I woke up and had breakfast with my parents as usual. We talked about our nights and some thanksgiving preparations. After our delicious breakfast it was time to leave and head into Manhattan! I love Manhattan.( I cannot wait to move there one day. The east side no higher then east 34 lol).
What I wore
I love this outfit. Material Girl red jeggings, Blondie top, and ankle high boots.
Our first stop was the farmers market. Our favorite is Stuyvesant town loop greenmarket. It on east 14th and Avenue A. We got so many goodies. I love going to the greenmarket. This was the last day for this one. I have to wait until spring for it to come back :( .
Greenmarket goodies
Persimmons. I’ve been dying to try these. The look So good.
Asian Pears and fresh Apples.
SQUASH!! we bought three butternut squashes. Everyone in my family loves this and we bought a Kabocha all for me :) I’ve been dying to try one. KabochaFashionsta is always talking about it so I need to see what all the fuss is about.
After the market we went to the car and dropped off our goodies and just walked around. We stopped in a little store that sold hats, bags, gloves and scarfs. I loved all the hats and scarfs. I bought a cute blue scarf and hat. I would have never have known about this cute little store if I wasn’t strolling along talking my sweet time walking. I love that about Manhattan. There are so many cute little places that are always around. After that we continued our little walk around the area. When we got to Union Square we noticed the Holiday Market had started. It runs until December 24th. If your in NYC I recommend checking it out. So many vendors. We went and walked around to each vendor. I Brooke my rule lol. I have this rule that I don’t not do anything Christmas related, I won’t even look at anything Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Once Santa comes in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade that’s when Christmas starts for me. Its my way of making sure I enjoy ever minute of the holiday season. I feel people try and rush it and forget the joy it brings so I try and hold on to it myself. But when I saw that holiday market I couldn’t control myself. It just made me so happy to see all that. I figured hey who knows if I will come back here again before Christmas so enjoy seeing all the vendors. We spent like an hour there. I think my favorite was the free samples hehe
I didn’t take a picture so I goggled one to show you what it look like. The picture does not do it justice that’s how massive this market is.
Then it was on to WholeFoods

This was my first ever time in WholeFoods. I know right I’ve been missing out. We don’t have one in Staten Island so I never really went. The closest one in 40 min away in Jersey and of course all over Manhattan. I loved it so much. I decided the trip to Jersey would be worth going so I’m definitely gonna go once a month. They have everything I need. I know people say its expensive but some stuff I actually found Cheeper because I would have to buy it at my local health food store and it would be expensive. You had to see me waking around there. I was like all bugged eyed going mom dad do u see this they have my stuff. Its so hard for me to find this home. My parents were laughing at me and I got some looks not gonna lie but I do not care. It was perfect. I finally understand why everyone is in love with WholeFoods. They can definitely add me to their frequent customer list.

Well I hope everyone has a good week ahead of them.

Did anyone do anything fun this weekend?

Anyone been to WholeFoods? What did you think of it?
